Greatness Of Allah

Few days back in a workshop for teachers, a speaker started his speech by saying a quote which was quite surprising and upsetting. Maybe to some it might feel that it is something to be proud of! But to others to follow such a quote said originially by some poet is pointless.

The poet said that if God and a teacher were in front of him, he would prostrate infront of the teacher. I tried googling about the poet and the quote. But was not able to find it. It was quite surprising to hear such a baseless statement! In my opinion, the poet never understood truly who God is! He must have not tried to connect with Him, otherwise he would not say such a statement. More surprising is that how people keep on passing without giving it a deep thought.

Allah says in Surah al Alaq, verse 5, (Translation) “Taught man that which he knew not.” After Allah created Prophet Adam, He taught him the names of everything. Without Allah’s Help, Prophet Adam would not have known anything. Moreover, Allah gave men intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge. Allah is the Most High the Greatest.

Prostration is performed to show that one is the Greatest, the Most Powerful. And that can be the One and the Only, Allah! Prostrating to a creation, is senseless. Teachers should be respected and admired but going to such an extent is pointless. The love we have for Allah is Greater than the love for others. Such statements should be ignored and not passed on without giving a thought or two.

  2. Yeah yeah..I remember reading that quote too, on FB i think, and I was annoyed to say the least..and kinda amused at man’s stupidity to quote such things and at people’s stupidity to propagate such quotes by sharing them blindly without thinking twice ..

  3. Eid mubarak to you and your loved ones 🙂 lucky to have found you 🙂
he disgraced all teachers. He can’t be a teacher to say such stupid baseless thing.
